Its that time of year again, to be a manager and take my favourite club to greater heights.
This new edition brings new some new features and layouts. So let's get started.
A couple of signings needed to reinforeced the squad. A right wingback was signed since Gary Neville is not that fit anymore. Loaned Van Der Wiel from Ajax which is quite solid. Next, got back an old boy Rossi for a cool 22 million to establish a 4 main strikeforce. Another old favourite from FM09, Vukcevic is signed for around 11 mil to replace Scholes. Like his technical skills, especially longshot , free kick and corner kick.
A good offer saw me sold O'shea to Atlethico Madrid. Cathart was decent but got sold as well.
Januaray transfer saw me loaned Dudu a future AMC prospect and also Sissoko costing 27 mil for future use.
An unorthodox 4-4-2 tactic was used for this season and served me well. Two MC as deep lying playmaker were solid in their roles, controlling and dominating the midfield. With Tosic or Valencia as the primary winger, crossing and making a run at the defence to assist the forwards to score. Rooney and Rossi fitted well as complete forwards, creating good chances for scoring and giving that extra edge which allows Berbatov to perform his job too. Evra was a beast, defending and running that left flank well. The central defenders did their job well, providing the extra edge at corner kicks, heading in those vital goals when needed with Brown more deadlier of the four.
A pretty good season though I lost the Community Shield and got kick out of the league cup. But finish 1st in EPL undefeated with 100 points.
A relative easy FA cup final which saw Rossi getting a hattrick. It feels good to kick Liverpool's ass.
Another memorable Champions League that saw us trounce Real Madrid 4-2. Ronaldo did score but new signings Rossi and Vukcevic help to make it an empathic win for our 4th European Champions trophy.
Many doubted Berbatov, but he was our top league scorer with 23 goals. However, Tevez scored 30 to win the EPL top goalscorer award.
Rooney is our top scorer, just one goal away to make it 30 in all competitions.
Rossi did well in his first season especially last few games when Berbatov was out with injury. His tally 20 goals justify his potential. Owen got 9 in all with Hargreaves following mostly from penalty kicks.
Now on with the new season!
