Today is my 28th birthday. I heard a new song today, by Nickelback, ‘If today was your last day’. I have passed thru roughly about 10227 of them, give or take. I do not know when my last day is or what I will be doing on my last day.
However, I do not live my birthday like it was my last day, more like a normal day. As any day it will be. Except today is a Sunday, no need to work.
Sometimes the best present come in a form of an advice. In this case from Nickelback song lyric, and I quote:
My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day’s a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride
Life has brought many lessons each year. One of the most grateful lessons I have learnt is being able to encounter of the most painful experience in love. To be betrayed, lied to and hurt is one hard lesson to take. But luckily, I found a way to endure and discover a way to be better. I learnt by processing your pain over and over again, will help not only lessen the pain but also understand why there is suffering and how we can forgive ourselves and others.
With that lesson, I pretty much have cried my last tear. Any pain or sadness endure can never hurt me as much as before. It becomes easier each time to handle. There are no regrets, no looking back only a desire to live more, see more, and know more.
And now time to go and get that song….
