Often people would ask what do I do? Many times I just simply tell them 'kuli'. If they ask further, some engineer loh. If they need to be specific, I tell them PABX engineer. Then you see the blank look in their eye and hands scratching their head. I stare back at them, wondering why am I in this field as well....lol.
I guess it would be easier to describe the nature of my job. You see, I am like a firefighter or even a doctor, since a lot of hospitals are my customers. And I HATE hospitals, bloody money suckers they are!!
So, when there is fire, I will be there to put out the fire. Small fire, big fire or very very big fire, I will be there. So, if someone calls up and says there is a fire, I will go and put it out. Maybe it will take me 1 hour, 2 hour or a whole day, depends on how big the fire is.
What if there is no fire? Well, on this lucky day, I'll thank and pray to God. Nah, how often will it happen. If it does, I'll sit in fire station, testing my equipments, practice my fire fighting skills, conduct fire drills, attend or give training. And wait for my day to finish.
Hence, if you see me in my office all the time, does this means I am lucky? In some way perhaps, enjoying coffee, air condition but if I go out, I earn more, not to mention test my skills against the fire and normally go home earlier of course.
I guess you can say no news is good news for me. But not good for business. After all what use are firefighters if there is no use for them?
What I look forward after work the most is a good night sleep, so I can have enough strength to fight another day..haha.
