On Hotel
I am staying in a so-called Executive Room which is more expensive than a normal superior room. Highest floor in the hotel mind you. But, alas these 3-star hotel room is just the same size as a normal superior room. However, they offer cheap Laksa or Prawn Mee with cincau drink for SGD 3 dollar from 6pm to 12am. Cheap food price for a hotel I think.
On MRT
A teenage 'Ang Moh' ask me how to buy a ticket from the machine. I actually wanted to laugh because he is speaking fluent English yet can't follow the instructions on the machine? I just roughly show him how to use it cause I seldom use the machine or take the MRT obviously. Hong Kong's MTR is more efficient and better than SG MRT, interestingly.
On Taxi
I have no idea about Msia taxi fares, only their bad reputation. SG have Mercedes for taxis which is only extra 30 sen for the initial start and same charge for extra metres travlled. Its extremely hard to get a taxi after 9pm. And waited 1 hour each time for that. And it was raining each day in Singapore...grrrr! And their fares are expensive. Extra 30% for peak hours, 50% extra after 12am, extra 3.50 for reservation and 0.30 diesel surcharge. They charger extra in any hours. And on weekends, 5.00 extra from the airport, no wonder I see more than 100 taxis queuing to pick up passengers in the airport. Might as well go SG to be taxi driver..
On Language
I find tha most young singaporeans speaks either Mandarin or English due to education. Was sipping Choc Rum Latte while wi-fiing and also, eavesdropping on two good friends talking about relationship. Couldn't help ovehearing the converstation cause the girl was cursing the bf with 'fucking' words more than 20 times. Her guy friend was very patient and calm. Never once hear any bad words from him though..heh. Too bad the girl's swear word is really PTE LTD. Would like to have taught her: KNS TNS MCH KNNCCB HKFK HKC though.
