What lies in the future? I think that's the question maybe everyone wanted to know.
I wonder should we live for the current or live for the future? The one thing constantly bothering me is my career. Actually, I never really give much though or have some sort of grand scale plan for my career. Because I really do not know what is best for me.
Perhaps I should list out what is my ideal choice of work description be like?
1. able to travel, oversea, out station, Klang Valley etc..
2. meet customers, talk and find solutions for them..
3. have collegues on riding on similiar wavelength
4. no need to constantly take certifications..hehe
5. preferbly no need to do reports, I don't mind doing documentations
6. flexi working hours i.e mobile worker, work anywhere, as when required
7. No need standby 24/7. I don't mind working late just dun call me after I close shop or during weekends. :P
8. allowed to take annual leaves without much justification
As for the money side, no doubt the more the better. I remember reading somewhere, a CEO mentioned that 'You can teach any indvidual any technical skills, but not attitude'. I agreed very much because sometimes your skill doest not matter that much, but is your attitude and willingness to learn that matters most. Likewise, I remember my tuition teacher said, 'There is no stupid person, only lazy bums!!'.
Anyhow, feels like I am in some kind of dillema lately, because again someone ask me to join back an ex-company. Sure the company is bigger and more well known than the current one I am in. I won't deny I do have the interest in the job scope they offer but than I am thinking I don't really conform or enjoy working in those corporate style company. If really have to work in one, I would like to choose a really really MNC style company kinda like Google, Digi etc. Those that have Mat Salleh bosses..hehe. Well, my parent company do have Mat Sallehs just that they are not really the one managing Malaysia branch. But big company probably offer better job security and prospect compare to a small ones. Perhaps is better to stay under a big tree than one a thin one..hehe.
Then, there is of course the oppurtunity to work overseas. Guess is another kind of those big dream people will have. Again, haven't really thought about it also, but there is an agent came knocking but nothing concrete was discussed...lol.
So guys/gals what's your take on the working life? What is the priority, money, prospect, future, security, comfort level etc etc? While my current job will take most of the recurring spendings I have such as transportion, handphone bill and sometimes even other bills, in addition time to do personal stuffs however there isn't really much of a career path or prospect. Working in a bigger company will offer better job prospect and security I suppose, more diversity in work but also involves many constraints as well. But then there is this Chinese saying which means, 'every kind of work will produce a successful person'.
Sorry for the long post. ;)
