Buying = Donating??

I saw an IT shop holding out a fund raising drive with China Press for the China Earthquake victims. So, I bought myself a keyboard + mouse set today. Actually, needed the mouse for my laptop use but don't mind a new keyboard either since it was cheap.

According to their drive, the items sold in the charity corner will all be donated to the fund. So I guess indirectly I donated?? So this caught me thinking , did I really donated? Or the IT shop donated?? hehe..cause usually donating means not expecting anything in return. In this case, I got something back and was ask to put my paid money into the donation box.

Anyhow, I got another chance to donate, as I saw a young girl holding a donation box for the China Earthquake while walking around Sg Wang. I was looking at box, and the girl walks to me and ask me if want to donate. Without hesistating, I donated of course..haha. In the end, I donated nonetheless.

Hopefully, all the donation reach the victims in time and help them rebuild their lives!!

I guess it's always the thought and intention that counts =)

for me, i always doubt that ALL the donated money will reach the victims. so, we have to be careful through which channel we donate...

anyway, as long as you think it is right then so be it..
And I do agree with keef that if you want to donate, go thru the proper channel cos ppl will be using this as a scam to gain more money..

if its ALL-IT then you can go to BAM (Badminton Association Malaysia) to find the half-owner :p

MOST donations will come with receipts which you may do a tax reduction. best bet would be to go through more famous channels ie M2u (im not trying to advertise), TV channel's donation accounts, newspaper's donation accounts or the like.

I don't trust those donations who say they come from Ipoh and they are trying to collect funds for old folk's home etc while showing you pics of the 'poor' people who needs your 'donation'. KL people more rich to donate?
