There is an old Chinese saying, 'The men are scared of getting the wrong job while the women are scared of marrying the wrong men". That's why successul man have more chance to attract women compare to a lesser man. So the weight falls on the man, who must ensure he make the right choice in choosing a job so that he can ensure the girl get a good husband.
Does this saying still hold some truth in this modern society then? After all, marriage holds less weight in some people's eyes.
However, its not easy to know or decide which jobs hold the best promise and allow you to achieve all your dreams in the not too distant future. Perhaps any job that allows you to make good money is consider more than good enough. But at what price? Safe to say, most of the jobs around can't ensure you to make a good fortune by just being the common employee. Only a select few will be able to rise high enough to make a good living.
For me, it always seem heavy to leave a company no matter how long you were there. To be honest, I don't think I was deem to be the one to that can make big money. I always wondered if I have already stepped into the wrong company for my first job. And somehow, continue to walk into the wrong company again.
Each time, the management people always try to tell you to keep an open mind and reconsider. The immediate boss make the approach, follow by the section head. And this time, even the other section head try to offer me a choice and approach faster than my own boss. I find that amusing...heh. Later, I guess maybe the head of the two heads will come and talk.
As I get older, I find that I prefer flexibility in working rather than adaptability to working. Maybe I was spoilt by the previous environment but I was more efficient then than now. I can say most of that time I was looking forward to serving the customers. :P Motivation to work is a hard thing to come by for most people, no matter what kind of inspiration, incentive or seminar you give the employees.
And my current work rate dropped a lot in my opinion. Yet I am still better than many. Again, another amusing point.
I may never know if I make the right choice in my path cause I can never see the future. Perhaps that is the beauty of things. You never know until you walk it.
But one thing for sure, I would have choose a career with more woman in it if I had the insight of the working world!!
