Today I attended a meeting for a 'big' project that involves a lot of technical things. Actually they already meet a few times before this, I am only first time join since my senior went oversea for training.
Many attendees are actually have 'half barrel' knowledge on the things they are suppose to handle. Me included lar. As usual, I keep quiet most of the time, since I will not be involve long and moreover I don't like to tell people about the things I do not know for certain. I always think better not give any information than rather give out 'half-assed' information that prove wrong in the end, thereby making people confused. Therefore, everyone favourite phrase, 'I'll check on that' applies a lot here..
I am surprised that we could still get a project like this base on our standard. Supposed to be very high tech but actually all also never done before. If this was a demanding customer, we will be grinded, crushed and 'kena bantai' dunno how many times liao. The business model is very good and sure to make 'kao kao' profit, unfortunately the technical part is rather dissapointing and will frustate and make people go mad before the project can finally complete.
Like my ex-customer once told me, 'Try lar, you only make the mistake once what, later you will become expert." :X He's right, but you can't afford to the take the risk.
The project is actually very challenging and if you succeed, other projects should be 'kacang putih' to handle, at least more easy to handle. But that provides, the people who did the project still around for the next one and next next one lar..
Oh well, me prefer to be low tech and most importantly, low profile. Else, I will shudder each time people call my name. Everything also call your name...damn ma fan. People say its because you can do the job, then can I charge you, everytime you call me for help? If the phone call you made is chargeable, why not me? I also providing you service or advice wat..

We may like the idea of earning money without having to work at first, but when money come so easily to everyone, what is the worth then of money and more importantly, what is the worth of a good self esteem and self satisfaction of overcoming obstacles? right?
