Lately read two blogs, one friend set a target to read 100th book by year 2011. Another friend found back her joy in reading while cleaning her room.
I got curious and counted how much books I have read. Here's a rough count of the total books I read since I was in primary school.
15 The Five Find Outer Series by Enid Blyton
10 Famous Five Series by Enid Blyton
10 Miscellenous books by Enid Blytion including The Magical Faraway Tree, The Naughtiest
Girl in School etc.
10 Classic books for children e.g David Copperfield, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Treasure Island, The Time Machine etc.
10 Hardy Boys Series
8 Christopher Pikes Books
10 RL Stine Horror books
7 Hercule Poirot, mysteries books byAgatha Christie
15 Thrillers, e.g Tom Clancy, Patrick Robinson, Michael Crichton
4 Dan Browns Books
4 Venus & Mars Series by John Gray
2 Mitch Albom Books
10 Other various books by different authors with titles like The Game, LOTR, Alex Ferguson
Autobiography, The Religion(in progress)
6 Harry Potter books (well, ebooks to be honest..hehe)
I own like 70% of these books. So seriously, I have read well over 100 books. Most of this are story books or novel cause its more interesting to read them obviously. 30% of the books I have reread two or three times.
Also allow me to mention, that I own before over 80+ Quest Magazines, 70+ Find Out More mags, 35 Take Off(aircraft) magazines, 15+ Popular Science, 20+ Footie Mags, 20+ FHM and 20+ PC Mags. Some magazines I thrown away due to lack of space. And also 40+ Dragon Ball comics..hehe.
I probably already spent a thousand or two buying all these. But I would prefer to buy books over music CDs anytime. Mind you, I never bought an original music CD before..lol.
Yeah I am a nerd!! So sue me lar.. :P Knowledge is power.

i tried to pick up my cousins LOTR during CNY when they were all gambling, it took me 2 hours just to go through the prologue, i swear to god, i have never felt so good to put down a book after reading just one chapter of it and wanting give up even before reaching half the chapter.
just before a harry potter movie, i did tried to force myself to read some 3 chapters before the movie was shown, to my horror, from the 2-3 weeks of reading just 3 chapters was shown in the movie for like 10 minutes or less. *BIG SWEAT*
perhaps im just not cut out to be a reader LOL
2 books also those I read in the past few months.
I forced myself to read, only to find i cant finish one even in years.
