Its that time of year again. The Malaysian Mega Sales which started on 16th June 2007 and will end on 2nd September 2007. In 2000-2004, the Mega Sales was held 3 times a year. But later only once a year.
My question is why not everything is on sale. I believe all the goods in under the roof of the shopping centre should be on sale. Mostly is only wearable items on sale from jeans to bags.
Why books aren't on sale? Why gadget's aren't on sale? Why the restaurants food aren't on sale(discount)? I suppose is Malaysia government problem? It wants its citizens to be knowledgeable and tech savvy but wouldn't do much about the duties and whatever taxes their impose on books or electronic gadgets.
Anyhow, some resources told me Sunway Pyramid new wing, the Pavillion and MidValley Gardens are opening on the same day!! Shop till you drop? More like shop till you broke.

Also, the major stores are not having continuous discounts throughout these months. Only on certain selected time. My Singaporean friends who came for a visit last week told me the clothes prices were the same as in Singapore. So no point for them to buy much..haha.
The Mega Sales is either a misunderstood term or is really just a gimmick by Malaysia to make itself known as shopping heaven. But the shopping malls are already raking enough profits from Middle East merchants and ninjas. :P

anyways for malaysian discount, beware of discounts on MARKED UP prices before discounts ie sale items are actually the same price as usual =_="
